August 21st, 2006 - in which I pray on the nature of winning and losing - that is, for the Democrats to quit forwarding numbskulls like Bob Casey, Jr., who is going to lose. No, really. He really, really is.

July 29th, 2006 - in which I pray that we not make fetishes out of the old and the young, we understand we are all the same and that they put this S.O.B. on trial, stat.

July 10th, 2006 - in which I pray, once again, about the new technologies for the sexually active.

July 6th, 2006 - in which I pray for a small indulgence in some writing that will never see daylight and perhaps a little melancholy.

July 3rd, 2006 - in which I pray in honor of the longest-serving and most important staff member at The Associated Students of Madison, my former employer.

July 1st, 2006 - in which I pray for wider understanding of a critical seasonal aesthetic.

June 10th, 2006 - in which I pray to the hurly burly to be said and done - or something like that.

May 30, 2006 - a prayer about musicians on Christian labels and their important contributions to our artistic atmosphere.

March 2nd, 2006 - a prayer for kids who want mommy to tell them what "monogamy" is.

February 10th, 2006 - a prayer about prejudice incognito, as if anyone is fooled.

February 8th, 2006 - a prayer about drink & the spirit.

February 4th, 2006 - a prayer about blogs, loving Sen. Hillary Clinton, how I know she doesn't really get blogs, why that's okay and why she just shouldn't worry about it.

February 1st, 2006 - a prayer for guidance on being a writer.

January 30th, 2006 - a prayer for free market ghouls.

January 28th, 2006 - a prayer for a guy I didn't thank, when I should have - he was being nice when he didn't need to be anything.

January 23rd, 2006 - a prayer about whether or not positive thinking might get me thrown into a scorching pit of brimstone and hot coals.

January 3rd, 2006 - a prayer for Eminem; poor, poor Eminem.

January 2nd, 2006 - a prayer for the way owners of strip clubs purvey the places.

December 28st, 2005 - a prayer for truth in advertising.

December 21st, 2005 - a prayer for the striking transportation workers in New York (no I'm not dealing with it myself now like New Yorkers are, yes our transportation workers struck a month or so ago).

December 19th, 2005 - a prayer against Santa.

December 14th, 2005 - a prayer that Dave Eggers has great success with the ladies and the good that will do.

December 13th, 2005 - a prayer for men and the bragging they do about doing.

December 10th, 2005 - a prayer for our delicate little fingers.

December 6th, 2005 - a prayer for Universities, moral budgets and Antonin Scalia.

November 29th, 2005 - a prayer for Jonathan Lethem.

November 27th, 2005 - a prayer for the Human Papilloma Virus vaccine (and rational thinking with regard to its introduction).
